Purchased used in August 2021, this 2002 classic Ruger Super Redhawk Model 05501 in .44 Magnum features a 7.5" stainless barrel and was likely only fired on Sundays after church.

The revolver includes its original Burris 2-7x32 handgun scope, Ruger scope rings, and factory case. I've added a leather chest rig, two speedloaders, and a matching pouch. Fewer than 300 rounds fired since I’ve owned it. Clean bore, tight lockup, and dead accurate.

Perfect for hunting deer, black bear, elk — or even Alaskan brown bears if you're brave enough to get that close.

The “SUPER REDHAWK” name is stamped on the barrel—not the frame—a detail missing from modern builds. It also features the original rubber grip with rosewood inserts, now seen only on TALO distributor exclusives and limited-run models. These small but meaningful differences set it apart from today’s mass-produced lineup.

It gets better.

Unlike current-production models that share a common frame across calibers, this 2002 model came from a dedicated .44 Magnum production run. During this period, Ruger hand-fit revolver trigger groups, and matching assembly marks appear on both the trigger group and the frame—confirming original factory-fit internals. The original factory mainspring retention pin also remains stored beneath the right grip panel. While the owner's manual is missing, this piece is otherwise as complete as the day it left the stockroom shelf.
